Guest Post Guidelines

I have begun accepting guest posts and plan to use them monthly or bimonthly, on Fridays. Here are some guidelines, if you’re interested in joining my guest community:

Content

A post printing on this blog must be about one of these topics:

Family
Marriage
Parenting
Children
Faith

Guidelines

1. Your post must be original, which means it shouldn’t be previously published on the Web or in print.
2. You agree not to publish it elsewhere, including your own blog or Web site. You may choose to provide a brief “teaser” or summary on your site that links to the post.
3. You may provide byline links, such as those for your Web site or blog, your About page or bio and your social media page.
4. Word count should stay between 500 and 850 words.

What you can expect

I am an editor, which means I will likely edit your copy for grammar, punctuation, spelling and sentence structure (if needed). If I make any changes other than those, I will e-mail you the post for feedback before publishing.

At the beginning or end of your post, I may or may not provide a short blurb about why I felt your post was a good fit for this blog.

If your submission is not used

Please note that while I understand the time and effort it takes to write a blog post, and I appreciate your effort, I am not obligated to publish your submission. I only publish the guests posts that I believe will add value to the lives of my readers.

To submit

1. Please e-mail me your submission. Because of the volume of submissions, I could take as long as two or three weeks to respond.
2. Along with your submission, please send a 2-3 sentence bio that includes who you are, your blog or Web site and a social media platform you’d like to share.
3. Please do not send an attachment. Include the body of the post in your e-mail. I usually include at least one picture with every blog, so if you can contribute a picture, please send that as well.

One last note

If you do not hear from me at the end of three weeks, please feel free to use your submission however you wish.
